Offering of noon alms to the devoteesπŸ™

That day was the Poya day of the month. That is, it was a full moon day. The people of our village observe Sil for all the four poyas. At the request of our father, we decided to give noon alms to those who celebrated Pohewas. Relatives and friends also came to participate in this. Many foods and beverages were prepared for this purpose.πŸ’“πŸ™

Although it was suggested to give alms in small quantities, in the end it remained as large alms. On that day, the devotees who had observed Sil were brought home and the alms were offered. Everyone came to our house like a procession. It was a sight to behold. Maddu Aiya washed his feet and invited his aunt to accept the alms.πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Š

There were people who wanted to fill the living room. After offering alms, they embraced alms. All those present came to support this by distributing food and drink. They also prepared a small offering for them. Finally, the Pirith chants began to bless us. He gave thanks to all the dead and wished all of us who are alive a healthy recovery. πŸ‘πŸ’ͺ

Everyone helped us to make this opportunity a success. We all felt relief and happiness in our hearts.πŸ’œ

We are determined to continue such charitable deeds.πŸ’–πŸ™
